That is a matter of opinion. So far there have only been 3 elections in which the popular vote did not win the electoral vote: 1876 Hayes over Tilden, 1888 Harrison over Cleveland, and 2000 Bush over Al Gore. But I believe you are only talking about Bush winning the election. But hey, he was elected again wasn't he? Hooray for democracy!

the reaoon for the electoral college -i guess- is to have a balanced weight and if we did it by votes only then there will be some disputes and variables (understandable) but i think the other reason is because the rule was made in the early years of the U.S. it was too hard to count all the votes but now that we have electronics we might change it someday

Indeed, only three candidates have become president without having received the majority of the popular vote. Thus, the current voting system cannot be that bad.

That is the thing; there shouldn't be any Electoral College. If popular vote were the method of electing the president, this country would have a much much much much much better track record.
