I remember when this tune came out back in 1978 off the Son of a Son of a Sailor record. I saw him in concert (one of about a dozen times) right after this tune came out. No one can whip a crowd into a frenzy like JWB. There was not a whole lot in the way of socially redeeming value to his songs but they were just fun to listen to. Margaritaville will still be played 50 years from now. How many of today's tunes will still be around then? Answer: ZERO.
